L'Oreal True Match Foundation || Review

Hellooo lovelies,

As some of you may remember a few weeks ago I did a haul showing my new L'oreal True Match Foundations that I had bought. I had got stuck in a bit of a rut with my foundations and I only ever really used Nars Sheer Glow or Rimmel Wake Me Up. In fact in my whole entire life I have only ever purchased two drug store foundations (which is craaazy for a beauty blogger), I guess I always thought it was worth investing more when it came to your skin. However, there are some fabulous drug store bases out there and upon hearing that L'Oreal True Match was a dupe for the well loved Georgio Armani Luminous silk foundation I just had to give it a go.

 Packaging
The packaging of this product is nothing particularly special but I actually quite like the simplicity of it and I love that it has a silver lid. This instantly makes it look a lot more chic than your average drug store foundation. A massive plus for me is that it has a pump because my bug bear is when foundations do not have a pump because it becomes impossible to get the amount of product out that you need. It's mainly the high end brands that pull the no pump stunt off though to get you to spend more of your money.

Consistency
The consistency of this product actually really surprised me because it was a lot runnier than I expected. It has a consistency very similar to MAC's face and body so it runs very quickly and needs to be worked with quickly to avoid any foundation running onto clothes situations etc. This doesn't necessarily bother me but I do prefer to have a slightly longer time to work with it just in case I get distracted whilst doing my makeup. It's super blendable though and buffs into the skin really nicely.

Colour Match
In terms of colour range, this foundation has got to be the best out there from the drug store. I've actually never come across a foundation with such an amazing colour range other than MAC before. It has every shade you could possibly ask for including cool, warm and neutral tones, however not every Boots store stocks every single shade available so make sure to keep an eye on that. I got mines in N2 for when I'm pale which is called 'Vanilla' purely because I felt the lightest neutral shade was a tad too light for me. Who knew there was a foundation TOO LIGHT for me when I don't have tan on, I was shocked too! The second shade I got was for when I am tanned either naturally or fake which is pretty much most days during the Summer is 'Golden Natural' which is the fourth warm shade. It has SPF 15 in it too so it's fabulous for during the Summer but beware of the flashback it will give if getting photo's taken so it's definitely one to avoid for prom, weddings, club nights etc.

Coverage
This foundation definitely is not a full coverage foundation but I would say it could certainly be built up to be one. I'd say it's light to medium coverage, it covers the redness of spots but it definitely wouldn't completely mask your face and hide them completely. I personally would say it's the ideal consistency of a foundation for this time of year.

Longevity
I've been trialing this foundation since I got it and it's lasted all day every day for me. It's very long lasting on my skin and I would say I have normal to oily skin. Occasionally I have used a primer under it if I've been applying make-up really early in the morning and needing it to last till late at night but other than that it's done the job great!

Price
This foundation is slightly more pricy than other drug store foundations but only by a pound or two so I would say it's 100% worth the money. If it is a dupe for the Georgio Armani (which unfortunately I can't vouch for having not tried it) then it's definitely the one to buy because it's significantly cheaper.

Have you tried L'Oreal True Match? What did you think of it?

Maybelline Baby Skin 'Pore Eraser' Review

Helloo my lovelies,

I have never really been a fan of primers, I sort of feel like it's just slapping more layers on your face that aren't really necessary and that they just clog up your pores. However, I have been thinking of getting Benefit's Porefessional because I've heard so many good things and I do have quite big pores around my nose that I'm quite self conscious of. The pores aren't visible once I've applied my foundation so really it was just for those 'no make-up days'. I had seen quite a few positive reviews of this primer so when I seen Maybelline Baby Skin primer in Boots I thought I'd give it a try because at £7.99 it's quite a bit cheaper than Benefit's Porefessional.

Firstly the texture of this is a strange gel like formula when smeared on your skin does make it feel 'baby smooth' and soft which is lovely. I'm not fond of clear things though because then I find it hard to see which area's I have covered and which I have not so I would much prefer this if it had a tint or a bit of colour to it.

Secondly this is not what it proclaims to be. It does not 'erase pores' at all, it doesn't even minimise them. This product literally does absolutely nothing for me other than add an extra layer that I would definitely say is unnecessary to my skin. I don't know if the people who do like this maybe don't suffer from visible pores but from someone who definitely does, this does not cover it. I've tried everything from using less product to more and from leaving it to soak in for ages to applying foundation straight away but nothing seems to work. I wouldn't even say that it has giving my foundation extra staying power as my foundation has always lasted well regardless. Possibly if you do have really oily skin and struggle with getting founation to last on your skin this would be worth a go but if you're looking for a 'pore-eraser' then this definitely is not the one for you!

Overall I'm really disappointed that I didn't like this product because after the amazing baby lips I had high hopes that there was finally going to be a really good drugstore primer but it looks like the hunt for that is still ongoing!

Rimmel London's Moisture Renew Lipsticks Review

Packaging.

Hellooo my lovelies,

I thought I would do a review of Rimmel London's Moisture Renew Lipsticks as I have been loving them and I think you guys would really love them too! Lipstick is one of my favourite makeup items as I think that they can really change a look depending on what colour you use. My favourite brands of lipstick are YSL and MAC but they are extortionate for lipstick especially now that MAC have put their lipstick price up to £15. So I'm always keen to explore the drugstore world of lipsticks because if you can have two high street lipsticks for the price of one high end lipstick of a similar quality then it's got to be a good thing! Rimmel London probably are one of the best brands in a drug store for lipstick quality (Revlon are also quite good!) so I was very excited when I saw that they had revamped their Moisture Renew collection!

There are 20 different shades in the collection, a variation of pinks, nudes, browns, reds, peaches and even a few purples!! It's actually really nice to see a high street brand providing colours like orange and purple as previously to get those shades it used to be pretty much high end or nothing. They also have SPF 20 in them so they'll be ideal in the Summer time meaning you can still look glam whilst you sunbathe and know your lips are protected! Apparently they're also infused with Vitamins A, C and E to help you maintain luscious lips.

The three shades i bought. Left to right:- 'As you want Victoria', 'Oxford Street Fuschia' and 'In love with ginger'

The first two I bought were 'As you want Victoria' which I was drawn to because it's a shocking bright pink quite reminiscent of MAC'S 'Impassioned'  but it;s not an exact dupe so if you have your heart set on an exact match then don't go for this one! The second lipstick i chose was 'In love with ginger' which is a gorgeous orangey/red and I got this because I'd been lusting after MAC'S 'Morange' but I didn't want to spend £15 on a lipstick I wasn't sure I'd like or suit. So at less than half the price (£6.49) it was definitely worth trying out and Rimmel products are usually on 3 for 2 so you can try out more than one or get some other Rimmel products to try out! I'm still not entirely sure if I suit an Orange lipstick so I haven't bought 'Morange' (yet) so because I don't own it, I cannot say that it is an exact dupe but I can say that they are very similar although I've never swatched them side by side, there's not a lot of difference. I would say Morange is slightly more on the orange side but if you're on a budget who cares this is similar enough! I'm hoping when we get into Summer that I'll get more use out of 'In love with ginger'.

From left to right:- 'As you want Victoria','Oxford Street Fuschia' and 'In love with Ginger'.

The lipsticks are very pigmented as you would expect as that was one of Rimmel's main focuses when revamping the collection and they're also super glossy (another one of their aims). I do really like the glossy texture of a lipstick as you all know I'm not the biggest fan of a matte finish on my lips but it does have a tendancy to make things a tad messy. A steady hand is needed to apply these as the textures so glossy and creamy it can easily end up all up your face and all over your teeth (not the look we're going for ladies!) and I would also recommend blotting your lips on a piece of tissue before reapplying. This will act like a bit of a lip liner preventing the lipstick from bleeding and will also make it last longer alongside avoiding the awkward lipstick on teeth situation! Anything you drink out of will also be coated in whatever shade you're wearing but the glossyness does look good whilst it's on your lips so we can look past the messy glass! They are quite long lasting, if you blot them first, you could probably get a good six hours plus out of it before having to re-apply which is quite handy. You can also apply them by dabbing them on to get a more sheer effect or apply straight from the bullet to get the full effect! Another thing I actually really like about Rimmel London lipsticks but I know many people would disagree with me here is the smell of them which is quite flowery/vanilla like and I think it smells (and tastes) really nice. If you're not the biggest fan of lipsticks having a scent you may not like this as much but for £6.49 you can't really complain!

After trying these two lipsticks out and loving them, I went back to Boots and bought another pink shade (no shocks there hmm) and this one is a gorgeous baby pink shade called 'Oxford Street Fuschia'. This is the perfect neutral shade for me which I have been loving wearing with Sleeks 'Pixie Pink' blusher (also a baby pink) with a browny/goldy eyeshadow look and it just looks really lovely for all seasons I think.

I definitely will be branching out into more shades of this collection in the future. Have you tried anything from this collection? What's your favourite lipstick?

Boots actually have them discounted to £4.49 right now, bargain! :- http://www.boots.com/en/Rimmel-London-Moisture-Renew-Lipstick_1388179/

P.S Top tip for you, you can visit Rimmel London's website and upload a picture of yourself to see a preview of what the colour will look like on your lips. I shall link it below.

Lots of love,
