Spring/Summer || Make-up Must Haves

Hellooo my lovelies,

No I have not just decided to pour half my make-up collection onto my bed and photographed it, this is actually my favourite Spring/Summer picks from my make-up collection. I was going to narrow it down into a smaller amount but I don't stick to one specific make-up look in Spring/Summer so I thought I'd keep it real with you guys and show you the products I'll reach for most this Spring Summer!

Left to Right:- Sleek Contour Kit and a very well loved Nars Laguna bronzer

Bronze, Bronze, Bronze.. I am all about the bronzed glowy look especially in Spring and Summer! My alltime favourite bronzer for both contouring and bronzing up the skin is Nars Laguna which sadly I think I'm going to need to repurchase soon. It is pricy (around £26) but it lasts a long time and it is truly beautiful especially during the Summer and as always I still love my Sleek contour palette.

The eye shadows I love in Spring and Summer are usually a lot more warm toned than I go for in the Winter so I love my original Naked palette by Urban Decay especially the shades Buck, Half-Baked, Smog and Darkhorse. I also really love the Collection work the colour eyeshadow pencil in 'Hot Chocolate' and I love it's cute name too!

Left to right:- Nars Orgasm blush and Sleek's Life's a Peach

I have a lot of blushers that I will be loving in Spring/Summer and my old favourites Nars 'Orgasm' and Benefit's 'Coralista' are definitely included in this list!! Coralista is probably my most favourite and it's on the more coral side comapred to Orgasm which is similar but much more pink toned. The other two blushers I'll be reaching for this season are Sleek's 'Life a Peach' which is a orangey peach tone and Sleek's Californ.I.A. palette. I love this blush palette as it's cream blushers which is a much more fresh and dewy look for Spring.

Left to right:- Benefit Coralista and Sleeks Californ.I.A.

Okay so my number one essential when the weather gets hotter and I'm sunbathing or out in the sun is a lip balm to protect my lips from burning. Lips are the number one area that gets painful (along with the soles of the feet) because people forget that they need protection too! Obviously the best one's are the ones with SPF in them but any lip balm has always worked for me, as long as it moisturises my lips. The best ones for Spring/Summer are those with a bit of colour in them and I love 'Pink Punch' and 'Peach Kiss' maybelline baby lips.

Tanya Burr lipgloss top to bottom:- Aurora, Afternoon Tea and Picnic In The Park

Tanya Burr's lipglosses are a definite essential for this Spring/Summer, glossy lips are bang on trend and these three colours are the perfect shades for Spring and I just love them! There's a lot of controversy in the blogosphere about Tanya's lipglosses but I genuinely do think they are a nice product and will repurchase them. In saying that however, there are definite shades that I'd give a miss and I do think they are slightly too expensive for her product market of younger girls. Anywaaaay my shades that I'm Summer lovin' are 'Picnic In The Park' which is my all-time favourite, 'Aurora' and 'Afternoon Tea'.

Left to right:- Pink Pearl Pop and Pure Zen

Spring/Summer lipsticks is a hard one because pretty much any colour goes except dark reds and purples. I tend to go for much brighter vivid pinks, corals and peaches but I also love a good nude for the Summer months too! I especially love 'Pink Pearl Pop' by MAC, 'Pure Zen' by MAC and YSL's rouge volupte in shade 15 'Peach Passion'.

YSL peach passion #15

Highlighters I love is obviously my YSL touche eclat, there's no season that I will not love this baby in! My MAC soft and gentle mineralised skin finish which is a gorgeous highlighter all year round and finally my Benefit Watts Up highlighter. Watts Up is a gorgeous champagne shade and it looks especially nice during this season because it's a dewy highlighter so looks AMAZING when the sun hits off it.

I'm loving these lip crayons for this season too, I have a Revlon one and two Bourjois ones that are ideal for Spring. Obviously orange lips are in season so 'Orange Punch' is fabby for a more subdued, sheer orange tone which is great for those who want to be on the orange trend but don't quite have the guts to pull it off (e.g. myself). Then the second orange shade is Revlon's 'Mischievous' matte balm which is a much more lighter, brighter orange shade. Finally my all time favourite is Bourjois' 'Peach on the beach' which is an amazing peach shade (obviously) and it's so pigmented and moisturising. I loved it last Summer and I shall love it all over again this one!!

Left to Right:- 'Afternoon Tea', 'Aurora', 'Picnic In The Park', 'Mischievous', 'Orange Punch', 'Peach on the Beach', 'Peach Passion', 'Pink Punch', 'Peach Kiss', 'Pink Pearl Pop' and 'Pure Zen'... Can you still I love me some Spring lippies?!

Haul, Haul, Haul! || Mac and Boots

Hellooo my lovelies,

So I've been shopping again *slaps on wrists*. I think I need to ban myself from going anywhere near the shops because I always spend far too much money. I do still have a Spring/Summer clothes shop to do though so I will need to brave the shops a few more times yet before I can implement this ban! I will do a fashion haul post on that too if you'd be interested in seeing it!

The first thing I picked up was St Tropez bronzing mousse and a new tanning mitt. I have never used this fake tan before because I love my St Moriz which is a fraction of the price, you can pick that one up for £3 and St Tropez is £20!! However, where I live apparently it's wrong to fake tan apart from in the main summer months so literally nowhere has it in stock! The only shops where I can get fake tan during the colder months is Boots and Superdrug and neither stock St Moriz sadly. This normally wouldn't be a big deal, I'd order it online and wait but I have a 21st on Saturday and I don't want to be a little ghost for that! Fingers crossed this tan gives me the effect that I get from St Moriz or better...(it better for £20 anyway!!). I also grabbed a new tanning mitt because my other one was filthy and I was long overdue a new one. Don't ya just love the feel of a new tanning mitt?! If you haven't used one to fake tan before then I definitely would because it gives the best finish!

My Boots FINALLY had the Revlon colourburst Matte Balm stains in the colours I wanted! The colours I chose were 'Unapologetic' which is a beautiful Pink colour (I can almost see you all rolling your eyes at yet another pink lip colour) and I also chose 'Mischievous' which is a pretty orange shade. I only have one orange lipstick and since it's bang on trend this season why not hey! Although I'm not entirely sure I suit orange lipstick so I'm yet to be brave enough to wear it outside...

I picked up a Revlon nail polish also because all Revlon makeup was on 3 for 2 and I wasn't really after anything specific so I just got a new nail polish (which I definitely did not need). Obviously it was pink because I wouldn't pick any other colour would I? I could probably do a lengthy blog post on just the pink nail polishes that I own alone!

The last thing I got in Boots was this deep sleep pillow talk set. It includes the deep sleep pillow spray and the stress less rollerball. I've wanted it for a while because I suffer from panic attacks and insomnia so anything that can help me relax and get more sleep is a gift from God. I'm hoping it works! I actually got this with my Boots points because then if it doesn't work, I won't really feel like I've wasted £22. I really like buying something 'big' or 'expensive' with my Boots points because then I feel like I've got something great for free...even though it's technically not free!

Probably the most exciting thing I bought was two new MAC lipsticks. I definitely have an addiction, I definitely did not need these but I definitely was not able to leave the shop without them! I actually had four so I think I did well narrowing it down to two, I bought 'Pure Zen' and 'Girl About Town' and the other two I was choosing between was 'Honey Love' and 'Japanese Maple'. Girl About Town is a bright fuchsia pink and Pure Zen is just a pale peachy nude. As I'm sure you'll gather by my colour selection, I've been looking for a new nude lipstick and I've been loving my Tanya Burr 'Afternoon Tea' lipgloss so I was going along the lines of that colour but in a lipstick? Honey Love, Japanese Maple and Pure Zen are all similar, they aren't dupes of each other but they're too close in colour to justify buying them all! I so nearly went for 'Honey Love' which is a matte finish but Gary informed me that it looked like I'd put dark foundation on my lips so I gave that one a miss! But hey I'll probably end up going back for that one another day and although Japanese Maple looked like concealer lips for me I'll probably end up with that too! I really want to collect MAC lipsticks, I'm not sure what it is but there's something so satisfying about adding them to my collection

Hope you enjoyed seeing the bits and bobs I picked up recently! What products have you bought recently? Have you tried any of these products?

Rimmel London's Moisture Renew Lipsticks Review

Packaging.

Hellooo my lovelies,

I thought I would do a review of Rimmel London's Moisture Renew Lipsticks as I have been loving them and I think you guys would really love them too! Lipstick is one of my favourite makeup items as I think that they can really change a look depending on what colour you use. My favourite brands of lipstick are YSL and MAC but they are extortionate for lipstick especially now that MAC have put their lipstick price up to £15. So I'm always keen to explore the drugstore world of lipsticks because if you can have two high street lipsticks for the price of one high end lipstick of a similar quality then it's got to be a good thing! Rimmel London probably are one of the best brands in a drug store for lipstick quality (Revlon are also quite good!) so I was very excited when I saw that they had revamped their Moisture Renew collection!

There are 20 different shades in the collection, a variation of pinks, nudes, browns, reds, peaches and even a few purples!! It's actually really nice to see a high street brand providing colours like orange and purple as previously to get those shades it used to be pretty much high end or nothing. They also have SPF 20 in them so they'll be ideal in the Summer time meaning you can still look glam whilst you sunbathe and know your lips are protected! Apparently they're also infused with Vitamins A, C and E to help you maintain luscious lips.

The three shades i bought. Left to right:- 'As you want Victoria', 'Oxford Street Fuschia' and 'In love with ginger'

The first two I bought were 'As you want Victoria' which I was drawn to because it's a shocking bright pink quite reminiscent of MAC'S 'Impassioned'  but it;s not an exact dupe so if you have your heart set on an exact match then don't go for this one! The second lipstick i chose was 'In love with ginger' which is a gorgeous orangey/red and I got this because I'd been lusting after MAC'S 'Morange' but I didn't want to spend £15 on a lipstick I wasn't sure I'd like or suit. So at less than half the price (£6.49) it was definitely worth trying out and Rimmel products are usually on 3 for 2 so you can try out more than one or get some other Rimmel products to try out! I'm still not entirely sure if I suit an Orange lipstick so I haven't bought 'Morange' (yet) so because I don't own it, I cannot say that it is an exact dupe but I can say that they are very similar although I've never swatched them side by side, there's not a lot of difference. I would say Morange is slightly more on the orange side but if you're on a budget who cares this is similar enough! I'm hoping when we get into Summer that I'll get more use out of 'In love with ginger'.

From left to right:- 'As you want Victoria','Oxford Street Fuschia' and 'In love with Ginger'.

The lipsticks are very pigmented as you would expect as that was one of Rimmel's main focuses when revamping the collection and they're also super glossy (another one of their aims). I do really like the glossy texture of a lipstick as you all know I'm not the biggest fan of a matte finish on my lips but it does have a tendancy to make things a tad messy. A steady hand is needed to apply these as the textures so glossy and creamy it can easily end up all up your face and all over your teeth (not the look we're going for ladies!) and I would also recommend blotting your lips on a piece of tissue before reapplying. This will act like a bit of a lip liner preventing the lipstick from bleeding and will also make it last longer alongside avoiding the awkward lipstick on teeth situation! Anything you drink out of will also be coated in whatever shade you're wearing but the glossyness does look good whilst it's on your lips so we can look past the messy glass! They are quite long lasting, if you blot them first, you could probably get a good six hours plus out of it before having to re-apply which is quite handy. You can also apply them by dabbing them on to get a more sheer effect or apply straight from the bullet to get the full effect! Another thing I actually really like about Rimmel London lipsticks but I know many people would disagree with me here is the smell of them which is quite flowery/vanilla like and I think it smells (and tastes) really nice. If you're not the biggest fan of lipsticks having a scent you may not like this as much but for £6.49 you can't really complain!

After trying these two lipsticks out and loving them, I went back to Boots and bought another pink shade (no shocks there hmm) and this one is a gorgeous baby pink shade called 'Oxford Street Fuschia'. This is the perfect neutral shade for me which I have been loving wearing with Sleeks 'Pixie Pink' blusher (also a baby pink) with a browny/goldy eyeshadow look and it just looks really lovely for all seasons I think.

I definitely will be branching out into more shades of this collection in the future. Have you tried anything from this collection? What's your favourite lipstick?

Boots actually have them discounted to £4.49 right now, bargain! :- http://www.boots.com/en/Rimmel-London-Moisture-Renew-Lipstick_1388179/

P.S Top tip for you, you can visit Rimmel London's website and upload a picture of yourself to see a preview of what the colour will look like on your lips. I shall link it below.

Lots of love,
