July || Favourites

I know, I know, I am getting so bad at posting my favourites on time these last few months but I'm going to put it down to the fact that the days are just flying by. I am finally getting round to it though and have quite a few new products that I've been loving to share with you guys!

The first favourite this month has been my Body Shop Pink Grapefruit body sorbet. This stuff smells incredible, so fruity and fresh and not only does it smell great but the smell is really strong and lasts on the skin. I've been around people hours after I've applied it and been told I smell really nice - like grapefruits (funnily enough) and it also makes your whole room smell of grapefruit too. It comes out really cool so is amazing if you've been in the sun all day or if you've been working/working out and you're all hot and bothered. I just love this, it's amazing and as soon as it runs out I will definitely be repurchasing!

Urban Decay setting spray is one of those products where I'm not entirely sure if it does what it's meant too but I love using it anyway. I tend to find that my make-up lasts a long time on my face with or without using this so I'm not sure how much of a difference this product makes in that way. However, I like using this to add extra hydration to my face and to stop my make-up looking cakey.

I've been using my Tresemme hair protection spray loads lately because when you're out in the sun it's just as important to protect your hair from the heat as it is if you were curling it. This one does the job and smells gorgeous and lets face it who doesn't want to have healthy, good smelling hair?

Definite favourite this month has been my Toni & Guy salt spray. This cost literally only a few pounds and although it's a super small bottle, you really do not need a lot of product. This is probably the best salt spray I've ever tried because I can visibly see it working on my hair. It also has the most incredible smell (there's a theme throughout this favourites), the smell lasts on my hair for hours which makes me love this all the more. The only downside of this is how fast I'm going through it because I use it so much!

A new discovery but a complete favourite is the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer. It's a thinner concealer than the Collection one I usually use but I kind of like that about it and you can use layers to build up a thicker finish if that's what you want. This concealer really does brighten up your eyes and because I struggle with bad under eye bags this is just fab for hiding them.

My last favourite is another new discovery and that's Soap and Glory's Glow Job which I definitely didn't buy just because of it's intriguing name...... This product is a tinted moisturiser and it just gives a nice bronze glow to the skin which is ideal for those days you don't really want to wear make-up but still want to have a bit of colour.

What have your favourites been the past month? Have you tried any of my favourites?

Lots of Love,

♥

February Favourites || Beauty

I was debating whether or not to bother doing a favourites post this month because I actually don't have very many new things to show you and I don't want to keep showing you the same things. However I do love a favourites post and its become a little bit of a tradition on my blog to do one each month so apologies for the small favourites but small is better than none right??

Anyhow my biggest favourite this month is a complete surprise favourite because I did not think I would like these but its the Make-Up Revolution I heart my lips collection lipsticks. Now Make-Up Revolution are fast becoming my favourite drug store brand, I made an order with them and got these sent free with my order because I'd spent over £20. Usually free gifts from brands are products they're trying to get rid of or ones that don't sell really well so I didn't have high hopes but these really surprised me. I've loved wearing them especially the purple and the nude shades so I will definitely be doing a full post on these with swatches!

My Naked 3 palette has reminded me why I love it so much last month. Those gorgeous pinky tones
and rose golds are just perfect for the month of love, I'm always drawn to this palette at the start of the year especially in February, must be cause the palette screams Valentines Day. I love, love, love Trick it is one of my most favourite eyeshadow shades ever with its glittery rose gold ness and I also love the pink glitter Buzz a lot! As you can see from the picture though I get a lot of use out of Nooner, Liar and Dusk too.

My nail favourite of this month is without a doubt Essies 'The Lace Is On' which I actually got in my Coloristiq box which is a subscription box for nail polishes which is right up my street. I'm going to do a full post on what I got in my box once I've tried out all the polishes but sneak peek this one is a winner. It's a bright purple with such a pretty metallic shine to it.

Another surprise favourite I have is the By Terry kohl terribly in the shade 3 bronze generation. I knew it would be good being By Terry but the shade is an olive green/black with gold through it so I didn't expect to get much use out of this but I have got lots of wear from it. I'll do a full post with swatches but it lasts well and it doesn't look as bold as you would imagine it too.

My last few favourites are moisturisers because with the weather being so cold my skin has been really dry, tight and itchy so I've been slathering this stuff on. For my face I've been loving Garner Moisture Nourish and although it is a small tube, a little goes a long way and it only cost £2! For my body especially my legs and arms I've been using Johnsons baby bedtime lotion which is one of my favourite body lotions. Although it is targeted for babies, it has such a relaxing smell that makes me chilled out and helps me get to sleep. It's also pretty cheap and really good for anyone with sensitive skin because obviously it's targeted for babies so is pretty natural!

What have your favourites been last month?

Lots of Love,

Urban Decay Naked On The Run || Review

I showed this stunning palette in my What I Got For Christmas post and I know you have all been dying for a review on this and swatches so here it is.

The Naked On The Run palette comes with five exclusive eyshadow shades, a full size Naked gloss in a new shade, a mini Perversion mascara, a bronzer, a blusher and a travel size eyeliner in 'Stag'.

Firstly the packaging of this is amazing, how beautiful is it. It is rose gold for a start which makes it my fave for packaging out of all my palettes, it also has gorgeous feather prints on the front in a brown, peach, green colouring. It is truly, truly beautiful! I feel like I actually need to polish it after i've used it so I don't leave fingerprints on it. For travelling I think it would be good, it isn't the most sleek of palettes that I've ever seen, it's quite chunky but it's manageable. Plus when you add in the fact that you have a lip product, mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, blusher, foundation and highlighter packed in here. All you have to bring is your foundation, primers, brushes and eyebrow products which I think is not too shabby considering I usually take blush palette, eyeshadow palette and everything else individually.

The five shadows shades are:-
♥ 'Dive' a gorgeous metallic pink shimmer which looks like it belongs in the Naked 3.
♥ Fix which is a light beige colour that reminds me of like a dark blonde shade (amazing description I know) and is a matte shadow.
♥ Resist is a cool toned metallic brown which looks like it would do well in the Naked 2 palette.
♥ Dare is a darker brown matte which I love for blending other shadows out.
♥ Stun which is my favourite shade in the whole palette (I think.. it's a very tough call) is a gorgeous warm toned metallic bronzey brown.

Left to Right:- 'Bronzer, Blusher, 50/50, Dive, Fix, Resist, Dare, Stun'

I am in love with the blush shade, it's such a gorgeous pink shade which really gives you that flushed colour literally. It is very pigmented though so a light hand is needed. The bronzer is also really pretty, it doesn't give as nice a contour as my Sleek bronzer but it works well as a bronzer just not as a contour.

Perversion mascara is something I had heard lots about but never actually tried for myself. I must say I haven't really reached for this as much as I do my holy grail Rimmel mascara but it is good for length. I find the brush too long so it's more fiddly to use because if you apply it in a hurry the chances of poking yourself in the eye are high. It also has a very wet formula so that can get messy if done too fast and has a tendency to make eyelashes stick together. If you have the time to put it on and aren't always running late like me though then it's fine.

I love the eyeliner Stag, it's a dark brown and I've been wearing it nearly everyday. It's such a creamy formula, long lasting, doesn't droop down your face hours later and leave you looking like a panda/like you've been bawling your eyes out.. you know the ones!

I love Urban Decay Naked glosses too which I'm sure you have all gathered by now so obviously was super happy that this comes with a full size gloss in a new shade Serro. I think this shade would suit anyone, it's very natural and goes perfectly with any look you can create from this palette for a natural 'naked' look. My favourite thing about this is that because it's a full sized gloss you can switch it out for any other favourite Naked gloss that you might have. I've also been enjoying switching it for my Tanya Burr glosses because they also fit perfectly in here, to be honest I think most lip glosses would.

I love this palette and it has come in so handy when I'm staying at Gary's house I don't have to carry 100 things with me, this is enough make-up for me alongside my eyebrows and foundation to get me by! Have you tried Naked On The Run? I think it's a must have for any Naked fans!

Lots of Love,

♥

What I Got For Christmas || 2014

I don't know about you but personally my most favourite posts are what I got for Christmas or what I got for my birthday. I'm naturally a really nosey person so I love seeing what other people get and also it lets you see things that you might want to buy in the sales or with your Christmas money. I asked on twitter whether you'd be interested in seeing this post from me and I got a lot of positive responses so here it is. Of course I am not in any way bragging and am very grateful for all my gifts.

I'll start with my stocking gifts that I get from Santa Claus because obviously they are the most important. I got some underwear from Boux Avenue which came in a pretty box with fake rose petals in it and I also got a bra from Kelly Brooks New Look range which I love, The pants are the softest material I have ever felt and I now really want to buy more from there in their sale.

Of course I got the standard Terry's chocolate orange to resemble the orange that we used to always get when we were little... we've moved up in the world!

The next thing I got in my stocking was a little Perry the penguin shower loofah thing and as you'll know if you follow me on instagram I have been loving the little Polar bear version of this. I'm super happy to have a second one to add to my little Body Shop family, these are the best things for gentle exfoliation in the shower especially if you wear fake tan and want to exfoliate but not remove it.

Everybody who knows me knows I absolutely love Frozen so I'm really happy to have a calender with lots of Frozen pictures in it.

My mum and dad got me this Pandora heart ring in my stocking which I love and wear every single day.

Another piece of jewellery my parents got me in my stocking this year was these pearl earrings which are from a jewellers in Edinburgh. They're really pretty and as my mum says "every girl needs a pair of pearl earrings".

As you can probably see there was a slight penguin theme running through my stocking this year. I love animals and penguins are no exception!

This is one of my favourite things that I got in my stocking because my technology levels are super basic so hopefully this will help me get better and be able to improve my blog.

Everybody knows I love Yankee candles so it's no surprise that I got some for Christmas. These two came in a set but I had to rip them open instantly to smell them of course. Neither are scents that I've ever smelt before but they're both really fresh scents. Season of Peace reminds me of something but I can't think what it's like a mixture of fresh snow and peppermint maybe??

Recently I've had a little obsession with jars from Tkmaxx for storing my make-up in and beauty accessories etc. I was really happy to get a little small one that I can use for my cotton buds cause currently they're mixed in with my cotton pads and it's not good for the OCD.

Aussie hair stuff is my fave because it smells incredible so I'm happy to have two big bottles to keep me going. I always find it so strange that brands sell smaller bottles of conditioner than shampoo.. I can't be the only person who's conditioner runs out first every single time!?

Being a blogger I love my notepads for jotting down lists and ideas of things so this is a perfect pressie for me. Its a London themed notebook so that's even better.

My gran got me another Pandora ring and this one is the Princess ring and I love how pretty it is.

I got this gorgeous lantern from my friend Linzi and I've already been burning candles in it which looks super pretty.

My cousin Emma made me this which I was pleased about because although this sounds really odd I've always wanted an 'A' for my room. I just think it will look really nice sat on my dressing table and would make a nice background for blog photos.

Linzi also got me this strawberry body set from the Body Shop and the strawberry scent is one of my absolute faves from the Body Shop so love, love, love that.

My friend Emma obviously knows me and my candle problem because she bought me a large Yankee candle yay, in the scent Christmas cookie. I'm sure most of you already knows what it smells like but if you don't it's really sweet, smells like a mixture of vanilla and sugar so quite like a cookie mixture.

My friend Robyn got me this amazing Soap & Glory set which has lots of my favourite bits and bobs in it. The righteous butter, scrub of your life, hand food and heel genius are a few of my faves. I'm really excited about the cosy socks too because they look really fluffy.

I got lots of body butters, face masks, perfume, chocolates and winter things like a nice pink snood and some gloves. Another favourite thing is this snuggle fleece from Next it's basically a big fluffy hoody so it's perfect for lounging around in. I also got these Little Blossom post it note and tab set, it's really pretty and has lots of animals on it. I love things like that because it helps me be more interested in being organised and revising.

My most favourite presents this year were from Gary, probably the most impressive was that he got me the Naked On The Run palette!! I have been after this since I went to the Debenhams event and I must have chuntered on about it enough that he took note and bought me it. I'm a Naked palette fan and I already have all three so obviously this is a must have for my collection.

He was also very thoughtful and bought me a Michael Kors purse which matches the Michael Kors bag he bought me for my birthday perfectly. I also really like that this one comes with a slot for your phone so if I feel like travelling light or if I'm going out for a night out/nipping to the shops it will double up as a clutch bag.

He also got me the romance ring from Pandora which looks really lovely on it's own but I love wearing it with my little love heart one on the top of it but it looks beautiful on it's own too.

I was also very lucky to receive the Bobbi Brown Make-Up Manual which I have wanted for the longest time and I was so surprised to see that Gary had bought me this because I didn't think he was that knowledgeable about makeup.

The last few things Gary got me was a giant Thorntons reindeer and some Lindor chocolate truffle things and this book. The story behind this was I seen one similar and was saying I thought it would be fun to do and he went to get it but it was out of stock so he bought the 'more' version of it. Basically it has lots of different things to write about and I love writing so it'll be perfect for inspiring my creativity.

I also got lots of money and vouchers so no doubt there will be a haul post up soon on the things that I buy with them!

I hope you liked seeing what I got for Christmas! Let me know in the comments what your favourite presents were this year.

Lots of Love,

♥
