Have a Lush Valentines Day || Haul

Happy Valentines Day you beautiful bunch!

Obviously with it being Valentines Day today, I thought it would be nice to share some bits and bobs that I picked up from the Lush Valentines day range because I am a magnet to anything that glitters, sparkles or smells nice!

The first thing I picked up was the giant love locket that left a giant dent in my purse at near enough £7 which I think is pretty expensive for a bath ballistic. However this beauty does redeem itself in the fact that it would do about three baths with its outer shell and also contains another bath ballistic inside it. I am looking forward to using this but not to having to cut it up and separate it. Although I was planning to avoid this one in order to save money, it smelt so beautiful that I just had to pick it up. It has a very sweet vanilla scent but not overpowering, it's a really nice smell.

I also picked up the Unicorn Horn which is so different to anything I've seen Lush do before. It has so many colours in it, pastel colours which obviously drew me in and has sparkles and pretty little stars. This one I'm not entirely sure of what the smell is but I know I wouldn't have bought it for its smell alone, it was definitely the aesthetics that made me fall in love with this one. It's quite a relaxing, herbal, lavender almost earthy smell, definitely not a favourite by scent but it is growing on me slowly but surely.

I was in need of another Lush lip scrub because my bubblegum one has started to taste a little funky because its passed its use by date so instead of buying the same again I thought I would go for something different. In the end I went for The Kiss with it being Valentines and all, this has cute little sprinkles on top and love hearts. I wasn't sure about getting a limited edition one because I really don't like the Christmas Santa lip scrub but I'm hoping this one will be a lot nicer!

The last thing I bought isn't from the Valentines collection but I believe it may be part of the Mothers day collection because I haven't seen it before in the shop is this Ultraviolet bubble bar. It looks a lot like the Comforter or Brightside but in deep purple and blues but it was it's beautiful scent that made me unable to leave the shop without it. Parma violets are one of my favourite sweets from my childhood and this smells exactly like a big packet of parma violets, so like it that if I closed my eyes I'd probably try eat it. This one was nearly £5 but this is massive so you could definitely get four baths out of this and I'm so excited to see what colour the water goes with this one.

Have you tried anything from Lushes Valentines collection? What are you doing this Valentines? Me and Gary are just going out for a nice meal, then out for some drinks before coming home to watch a movie and have snuggles with the pup. Hope you all have a lovely night whatever you're doing!

Lots of Love,

Lush Fizzbanger || Review

I'm quite the Lushie and have tried many of Lushes products but most of the ones I have tried have been from their Christmas or Halloween range. My favourite scents are usually released around this time and I don't have as many baths in the warmer months. This is a bath ballistic from Lushes standard range and I got this in the Fizzbanger gift set which was based around this product, Fizzbanger.

The first thing that struck me about this product is how big it was, are the normal range products always slightly bigger than their limited edition products?? It's a bright yellow colour and has a citrus smell. Lush themselves describe it as "releasing first a citrus apple and then a cinnamon, apple pie like scent with a hint of ylang yang". I think this is an accurate description because it does have that citrus scent but with a bit of something added not too sweet not too spicy just really fresh and nice. I'm surprised this isn't released for fireworks night because it contains popping candy and is called Fizzbanger.  Apparently this also contains 'Petitgram' which is used to calm breathing, slow the heartbeat and reduce anxiety. I don't truly believe that anything can fix anxiety but I certainly forgot about my stresses and relaxed while I was in the bath.

In the bath this is a pretty interesting one, it explodes into yellow foam and then spins round like a 'Catherine Wheel' as Lush says and blue colour comes out and the colour goes from highlighter yellow to a lime green and then develops into a gorgeous rich green colour.

Another nice touch to this bath ballistic that I only actually noticed while I was draining my bath was it had a little sheet of paper in it saying 'BANG!'. I thought this was a really nice touch and it might actually be a transferable tattoo as I was trying to pick it off the bottom of the bath the words removed from it onto my skin so I didn't manage to get a photo of it.

This costs £3.35 which is slightly more than Lushes regular ballistics but considering the size of it and what a nice bath it gives, it's a lovely treat especially for those needing to de-stress.

Lots of Love,

♥

Lush Christmas Goody Bag & Haul || Blogmas Day 5

In my previous post I showed you around my local Lush store and their Christmas products and I was lucky enough to be given a goody bag full of products to take home and try. I am super nosy and love hearing about events and seeing what people got in their goody bags so I'll show you what I got in mine.

I got to pick my goody bag and I was so torn between them all because they're so lovely, there was a spicy one but because I had tried most of the products already (and loved them) and the same with the Snow Fairy, sugary sweet type ones. So I thought it would be more interesting for everyone if I got one of the different sets both filled with products that I haven't really tried. The first one is the Whoop Whoop gift set and the second is Joy To The World.

The first thing I actually bought myself was a large bottle of the So White shower gel because like I said before it's my favourite Lush scent so knew I would get great use out of it and this retails at around £14.

Firstly can we take a minute to appreciate how pretty Lush gift sets are always wrapped?? I despise wrapping presents, I can't do it neatly, it's too fiddly, I end up using waaay too much paper or discovering I've not cut enough paper and leave an annoying gap. So any present that comes already wrapped is a big bonus for me because it means I don't have to bribe my mum, Gary or my sister to wrap all my gifts for me (yes, that really does happen). They always have gorgeous ribbons on them too which I like to reuse e.g. give them to said person who is wrapping my gifts to wrap them with hahaha. When I receive a Lush set it is always the dilemma of I really want to see and smell what is inside but I don't want to ruin the pretty packaging.. the first always wins though!

This set is Joy and it is one of Lushes cheaper sets I would imagine because it only contains two products. The great thing about the Lush sets is that you can totally tailor one to your needs because they differ in price, type of product, scent and size so they have perfect ones for Secret Santa and ones that would do as a main present for a mum or a girlfriend/partner.

Joy contains one of the soaps called Snowcake which to me smells exactly like Marzipan and it also reminds me of Playdough which was like a plastic dough that kids used to play with when I was little. Like I said in my previous Lush post I'm not a massive fan of soap bars in general but I think I'll use this one in my bathroom for hand washing. It's not one of my favourite scents but it's nice all the same.

I was quite excited to receive this Dream Cream because I haven't actually tried any of Lushes creams, body lotions or facemasks etc. I haven't used this yet but I've heard amazing things about it so I'll let you know if it's good or bad.

The Whoop Whoop set contains six products so this is one of Lushes bigger sets. I was so surprised when I opened the box because it has this gorgeous pop out decoration which I believe you can take out from the box and use it as a deocration if you so wish. It's really bright, colourful and fun which pretty much sums up the essence of this box. I think this would have been great for fireworks night but also for someone who's really into their baths that actually do something e.g. a proper colour change in the water or ones that make a noise. I even think this would be brilliant for children because they'd love to make music with Drummers Drumming and they'd also like the bright colours.

Brightside is another product from Lush that I haven't tried before but it basically looks like the comforter but with orange and yellow swirls instead. This one is a huge one so it will last a good few baths and you just crumble it under the running water to create masses of scented bubbles. However, the gift set version is smaller than the individual version that you can buy.

Avobath and Fizzbanger are two bath ballistics from Lush that I haven't even heard of before so I'm really excited to try these. I don't know if they're exclusive to this gift set or if they're just underrated ones but I'll be sure to let you know what they're like. I'm super excited about Fizzbanger because I think it's going to be a cross between the Sparkler and Cinders, it has a very zingy scent but you can still smell the cinnamon. It's an unusal scent but a nice one! Avobath like you would assume smells quite avocado like but again with a citrus kick to it. Both of these bath ballistics are quite large too.

It also contains one of the shower jellies which last forever and this one is Whoosh which I haven't tried before. It doesn't have an overly powerful smell to be honest, it just smells very clean and it's one I'll probably donate to my boyfriend because it seems a bit manly for me.

Drummers Drumming is the only Christmas product really aside from Northern Lights in this gift set. It is super cute and is a totally new release from Lush, it works much like the popular Magic Wand which is really effective. I'm expecting this to give me lots of bubbles and maybe a pinky/orange coloured bath. I love the cute little bells on it which Luca also finds really entertaining and has tried to pinch it from me several times! With these you just swirl them round the bath a few times and then put them on the side until your next bath, you can get so many baths out of these. I've had four with my magic wand and it still looks almost new! Lush says this smells like strawberry but I can't smell that myself maybe very faintly, to me this one doesn't have too much of a smell but I'll see what it smells like once it's in the water. I really like how it looks like those little Drumstick lollies too!

It also contains Northern Lights which I have reviewed on my blog before and it's one that is definitely worth trying, very pretty and relaxing.

Have you tried any of these products?

Lots of Love,

Lush Christmas Event & Spa || Blogmas Day 4

I am a massive Lushie especially when it comes to Autumn/Winter so when I was invited along to their Christmas event I was super excited. One thing about Lush is that the staff are always incredibly passionate about their jobs, know lots about the product and they always have really unique, friendly, likeable personalities. I don't think there has been a time where I've walked in to a Lush store and not been welcomed by a friendly face wanting to chat about their products. This event was no exception all the staff were wonderful! Beware I did take about 1000 pictures so this is a very picture heavy post but hopefully like me you enjoy those!

The Christmas products this year like every other year are exceptional. Obviously being the massive Lush fan that I am I already knew about a lot of these products sadly in more detail than someone who doesn't work at Lush probably should. One of the new things that I was super excited about was the So White shower gel because the So White bath ballistic is my absolute favourite and if I can get it in shower gel form then that's even better. They've also brought back quite a few favourites like the Melting Snowman, Golden Wonder and the ever so famous Snow Fairy.

One of the really nice gift sets that stuck out to me was the Lush spa gift set which contains some of the products that are exclusive to the spa (and this gift set). I think this one would be the perfect relaxing gift for a mum to be especially because it contains the massage bar therapy. A cute little story that I learned about Therapy was that it has the four holes, one of which sticks out because it was designed for pregnant ladies. At the time it was a fact that one in every four babies was born with an outie belly button which this massage bar represents, I found this so interesting!

What's cuter than Butterbear?... a whole pile of them!

I'm not overly into soaps in general so I haven't tried many Lush soaps just because I prefer shower gels as soaps take too long to lather up and they just mess the bathroom up lying there. However, I so wanted to buy this whole toadstool for my bath room but a) that would have cost me a fortune and b) it would be totally impractical but how cute is it?! Obviously it isn't as cute when it's cut into slithers but if anyone has any spare cash and would like to buy a quirky decoration for their bathroom then by all means buy the whole toadstool! I think a cool way to use them though would be as a hand soap in your bathroom because they'd look really sweet and be pretty for visitors (and you).

I love Lush shower gels because if I'm not feeling like a bath I still want to smell lovely and obviously as I mentioned previously So White was one I was super excited for and just had to buy. I was so tempted to buy all the shower gels but I limited myself to just the one until I have used it up. On my next visit though I will definitely be picking up Hot Toddy as it has such a gorgeous spicy smell. I reckon Hot Toddy, Cinders and Melting Snowman would make the ultimate Lush cocktail!

Imagine receiving this bad boy on Christmas day, best present ever?! I think so!

We also got the chance to go down into the Lush spa which I was so excited about because I've wanted one/all of their treatments for ages now. When you get into the spa it has that fairytale essence which a lot of Lush products carry with the wooden furniture and the little china cups filled with delicious cucumber and lemon water.

We got to see a few of the rooms set up as they would be for specific treatments, this pink room is the comforter, I know, it's relaxing even to look at. Soft pink lighting, bubbles blowing through the air, candles and dazzling lights on the roof, this one is as comforting as the name suggests. It's a very warm treatment, you get tucked up in a thick cosy duvet and covered in a chocolate exfoliating scrub and get a massage to send you to sleep. You would never guess such a treasure is buried beneath the never silent Princes Street.

Another one of the treatments that really interested me was The Sound Bath which is focused on tuning your ears back to the way they should naturally hear sound since there is so much background noise in life. You get an 'eat me, drink me' thing as you enter the room which again is very Alice and Wonderland before tuning forks, ear candles and a facial mask help you to relax.

The final spa treatment we saw was Synaesthesia which is set to jaunty sea shantys. I was not overally keen on the music I have to say, I'm not sure if I personally would be able to relax to something like that. However, you get a full intensive body massage and watching the girl massage a clients back like that made my back long for a massage it looked incredible! I also really liked the green smoke coming out from under the bed in this one, it looked very magical.

The best thing about Lush spa treatments is there is a giant sauna like shower you can use before and after your treatment filled with every Lush product imaginable that you're welcome to use as much of as you want. There's also no rush to leave the spa after your treatment, you can chill out on the sofas sipping your spa water for as long as you like!

Thank you so much to Lush Princes Street for having me along, I had an incredible time! Keep your eyes peeled for tomorrows post because I'm going to show my Lush goodie bag and the products I got to try out. Since this post is already a pretty lengthy one I thought it would be best to split it into two!

What's your favourite Lush Christmas product?

Lots of Love,
