My Streak Free And Natural Fade Fake Tan Routine

 Hellooo my lovelies,

Since it is now March and the warmer days are in sight where we can finally get our legs out again without catching frostbite, I thought I would blog about my fake tan routine because it's something I like to do when the weather gets warmer. These are my key essentials for getting a streak free tan with easy fade removal not patchy, flakey, diseased looking skin removal (you all know what I mean!!)

The tan I use at the moment is St Moriz mousse in dark and this is super cheap and you can buy it from Tesco's. If you struggle to apply tan then make sure you're using a mousse because I find they apply a lot easier and you have more time to work the product into the skin so it tends to avoid darker patches. Also with sprays I always found I would spray half my room whilst spraying myself (just me??) I always go for the darker shade too because I like my tan to go dark and with the lighter shade I always preferred the guide colour so never wanted to wash it off. Top tip:- Never ever wear any clothes you like before you have washed the guide colour off though- you have been warned!!! Unless you want to ruin your light coloured bra's and tops or to have foundation coloured armpits then avoid like the plague! The tan does have that biscuity fake tan smell but I actually don't mind that smell so it's alright. I also use a tanning mitt to apply my tan, mines is very dirty and I need a new one ASAP! I think these are a lot more easier to get an even finish with than latex gloves and they definitely stop you getting orange hand syndrome.

Two essential products in my tanning routine are Soap and Glory's sugar crush body scrub and the Soap and Glory five fruits butter yourself body butter. I looove both of these and they're holy grail in my life and in my tanning routine! Firstly I exfoliate the morning I'm going to do my tan with the Sugar Crush body scrub because it lifts off all the dead skin and ensures that the tan will go on evenly and will fade more evenly. Then when I come out the shower I use the Soap and Glory moisturiser. I then will not do my tan until just before I go to bed that night a) because I don't want to walk about smelling like a pack of digestives all day b) I don't want to ruin my clothes and c) the tan will not adhere to the skin if it still has moisture on it. Therefore it's vital to at least wait a few hours before you apply the tan to ensure all oils and moisture has been soaked in! The Sugar Crush body scrub is also ideal for scrubbing off those stubborn bits of fake tan that just won't be removed when you decide you want rid of it.

My last step to make sure my tan fades evenly is using exfoliating gloves that can be picked up from Boots or Superdrug for a pound and any shower gel that you would normally use - Mines is Snow Fairy from Lush. I swear these gloves both do have a matching partner, it just so happens I could not find it anywhere in my room. The white one has since tipped up in the washing basket of all places but I have no clue where the other blue one has went! Anywaaay what I do is I put a bit of my shower gel onto the gloves and just lightly buff them over my skin. This won't remove your tan- panic not. It just ensures that the skin doesn't flake off in patches and leave you with that diseased skin look! I usually do this about three days after I've applied the tan!

I hope that helps if any of you needed any fake tan tips! What is your favourite fake tan?

Lots of Love,
A x x x

  1. I used this tan last night! It's my cheaper alternative to my Sienna X! Abs they also sell this in Wilkinsons & Savers have a look in there as I'm sure they sell them cheaper than Tescos - just thought I'd let you know seeing as I now have to shop cheaper with my money haha ;) So nice to see someone use an exfoliatant & moisturiser alongside tanning! Also those gloves are amazing aren't they - especially when you wanna get the tan off completely to get rid of that alligator skin! Another amazing blog post from you xxxxxx

    1. Thank you lovely! I can get pretty lazy with it and just let it completely fade before I put more on but I'm a total ghost so in Summer I really need it! Moisturisers have never been great for me because you can't really see where they're going and it's often a very light, streaky tan you get but they might work well for you! Let me know how you get on with them :-) They're lovely, smell delicious too! I will check it out honey :-) xxx
