Rimmel London's Moisture Renew Lipsticks Review

I thought I would do a review of Rimmel London's Moisture Renew Lipsticks as I have been loving them and I think you guys would really love them too! Lipstick is one of my favourite makeup items as I think that they can really change a look depending on what colour you use. My favourite brands of lipstick are YSL and MAC but they are extortionate for lipstick especially now that MAC have put their lipstick price up to £15. So I'm always keen to explore the drugstore world of lipsticks because if you can have two high street lipsticks for the price of one high end lipstick of a similar quality then it's got to be a good thing! Rimmel London probably are one of the best brands in a drug store for lipstick quality (Revlon are also quite good!) so I was very excited when I saw that they had revamped their Moisture Renew collection!

 There are 20 different shades in the collection, a variation of pinks, nudes, browns, reds, peaches and even a few purples!! It's actually really nice to see a high street brand providing colours like orange and purple as previously to get those shades it used to be pretty much high end or nothing. They also have SPF 20 in them so they'll be ideal in the Summer time meaning you can still look glam whilst you sunbathe and know your lips are protected! Apparently they're also infused with Vitamins A, C and E to help you maintain luscious lips.

 The first two I bought were 'As you want Victoria' which I was drawn to because it's a shocking bright pink quite reminiscent of MAC'S 'Impassioned'  but it;s not an exact dupe so if you have your heart set on an exact match then don't go for this one! The second lipstick i chose was 'In love with ginger' which is a gorgeous orangey/red and I got this because I'd been lusting after MAC'S 'Morange' but I didn't want to spend £15 on a lipstick I wasn't sure I'd like or suit. So at less than half the price (£6.49) it was definitely worth trying out and Rimmel products are usually on 3 for 2 so you can try out more than one or get some other Rimmel products to try out! I'm still not entirely sure if I suit an Orange lipstick so I haven't bought 'Morange' (yet) so because I don't own it, I cannot say that it is an exact dupe but I can say that they are very similar although I've never swatched them side by side, there's not a lot of difference. I would say Morange is slightly more on the orange side but if you're on a budget who cares this is similar enough! I'm hoping when we get into Summer that I'll get more use out of 'In love with ginger'.

 The lipsticks are very pigmented as you would expect as that was one of Rimmel's main focuses when revamping the collection and they're also super glossy (another one of their aims). I do really like the glossy texture of a lipstick as you all know I'm not the biggest fan of a matte finish on my lips but it does have a tendancy to make things a tad messy. A steady hand is needed to apply these as the textures so glossy and creamy it can easily end up all up your face and all over your teeth (not the look we're going for ladies!) and I would also recommend blotting your lips on a piece of tissue before reapplying. This will act like a bit of a lip liner preventing the lipstick from bleeding and will also make it last longer alongside avoiding the awkward lipstick on teeth situation! Anything you drink out of will also be coated in whatever shade you're wearing but the glossyness does look good whilst it's on your lips so we can look past the messy glass! They are quite long lasting, if you blot them first, you could probably get a good six hours plus out of it before having to re-apply which is quite handy. You can also apply them by dabbing them on to get a more sheer effect or apply straight from the bullet to get the full effect! Another thing I actually really like about Rimmel London lipsticks but I know many people would disagree with me here is the smell of them which is quite flowery/vanilla like and I think it smells (and tastes) really nice. If you're not the biggest fan of lipsticks having a scent you may not like this as much but for £6.49 you can't really complain! 

 After trying these two lipsticks out and loving them, I went back to Boots and bought another pink shade (no shocks there hmm) and this one is a gorgeous baby pink shade called 'Oxford Street Fuschia'. This is the perfect neutral shade for me which I have been loving wearing with Sleeks 'Pixie Pink' blusher (also a baby pink) with a browny/goldy eyeshadow look and it just looks really lovely for all seasons I think.

Topshop and Misguided Haul

Soo, yesterday I went to Topshop and made a couple of cheeky purchases and i also made a sneaky Misguided order so I thought I would share what I bought with you. I've also added in two things that I bought a while back just because I think they're too nice not to share. I seem to have this problem where when i step foot in Topshop or venture onto their site, I can't leave without buying things. I just really love Topshop and alongside Misguided it is probably one of my current two favourite shops! I think it's blatantly obvious I really am no good at this saving money business (maybe next year hey!).

  The first thing I got a while back and I'm almost certain that you won't be able to buy it anymore but it was too cute not to show you and that is my gingerbread Christmas jumper from Topshop. I never had a Christmas jumper last year and I wasn't sure whether to get one this year or not because I hadn't really seen any I liked but then i seen this one. It was £42 which I will agree is pretty expensive for a jumper you can probably only wear a couple of times but I ended up getting it because my auntie was having a Christmas jumper party sooo technically you could say I needed it (or so I tell myself hehe). Also with this one I think I can get away with wearing it after Christmas aswell because gingerbread are a little more subtle than Santa or reindeer and I can always wear it in the house. This also looks great with a white or cream shirt underneath it! Christmas jumpers sell fast every single Christmas and I was very lucky to get the last one in my size this time, next time I'm definitely going to try and be more organised (maybe I should add this to my list of New Years Resolutions!).

On my recent jaunt to Topshop I picked up a baby blue eyelash cropped jumper. I didn't know whether to get the baby pink one because theoretically it would go with more but I already have plenty of pink jumpers so I decided to go with the blue one for a change. I also have my eye on a few other eyelash jumpers on Misguided (no stopping me now!) but they're out of stock at the moment so I'll do a post if/when I get them! Topshop is expensive but they do 10% which is great for students and the clothes are really good quality.

 Another thing I picked up from Topshop was two plain t-shirts, which is one of those items that I feel like I'm always buying but I never have enough of so I thought it definitely wouldn't hurt to pick up a few! Plus you can't go wrong for £16! The one's I chose were oversized, baggy, sort of acid wash style and I got two of the same type which I'm notoriously famous for doing. When I like something, I tend to buy it in more than one colour that it's available in AND i really do need to break that habit hahaha(one day). Anyway I got one in grey and one in a light blue and I really love them! I've already worn the blue one and they'll go with everything and they're great for casual days and just slouching about in!

 My all-time favourite thing that i picked up from Topshop though is these patterned leggings, I'm usually really 'safe' in the trouser department, sticking to disco pants and leggings/jeggings. I'm not a really a jeans kinda girl and the only jeans I like are the Joni ones from Topshop (shock I know) and I shy away from all the patterned, jazzy leggings and trousers, just admiring them from a distance. However, I was shopping with one of my best friends Robyn and she convinced me to give these a try in the changing room and I absolutely fell in loveeee so thanks Robyn! They're a black cottony material with velvet diamond shapes on them, doesn't sound anything special but look at them!! and they feel absolutely amazing, I keep going up to people and being like stroke my legs (obviously not random people that would be weird... hahaha) Another thing I love about these are they are really reminiscent of American Apparel disco pants which everybody knows I love to pieces. They also have a gold zip up the side which is a really nice touch especially if you wear them with cropped jumpers/tops so you can see it but they equally look nice with casual tops. They're really versatile for dressing up in the night time and dressing down for a casj day time look and they really are just a fabby staple piece for any girls wardrobe! You can zip them up and down to take them on/off or you can actually slide/wiggle them on and off (i was delighted with this discovery, every bit of time saved is great ahha!) I'm 5ft 2, soo very much on the shorter side of life and I got these in a size 8 and they fit perfectly in every way which is great as sometimes leg length in things can be a little long on me for obvious reasons! So big thumbs up to Topshop on this little beauty!

 The final thing i picked up in Topshop was three pairs of frilly socks. I absolutely love Topshop socks, I think they're great quality and they always have really cute patterns on them. Another trend I love is frilly socks as I think they look great peeking over the top of a nice pair of Winter boots or even Converse. So Topshop and frilly socks is serious good news for me! Another bonus is Topshop nearly always have their socks on 3 for £8 offer so they're a great bargain. The one's I picked up were another pair of plain white ones (can never have too many of those!), a blue pair and a dusky pink pair. I love pink so much that I could not wait to take pictures of them before wearing them so sorrrrry but have a picture of them on instead!

 More socks that I picked up from Topshop were Christmas ones, this was also way back at the beginning of December but I thought they were too cute to leave out of this haul. I don't care how Christmassy they are, I am still rocking the Christmas socks look hahah.

  Moving on to the Misguided things that I got, the first thing is this gorgeous hot Pink, Mohair jumper and it's honestly so beautiful. It's also really really comfy and not in the slightest bit itchy which I worried that it might be. It looks fantastic with the Topshop leggings mentioned above and it would also go great with disco pants, leather skater skirts or a black skater skirt. I am tempted to buy another one in white/grey or black but still trying to hang onto that saving resolution hahaha (by a thread).

 The final thing I picked up from Misguided is a black, lace, sleeveless shirt that has a collar with gold tips on it. It looks great on it's own or would look great under a jumper with the collar peeking out over the top. The back of this is absolutely gorgeous as the front is very opaque but the back is see-through lace and it looks really nice and classic. The lyrics by Nicki Minaj, Starships  'Business in the front, party in the back' always springs to mind when I wear this shirt. The lace back does look okay with just a bra or it also looks really nice with a black bandeau or I guess you could wear whichever colour takes your fancy. I think this is another classic piece that could be dressed up or made more casual depending on what you pair it with and it would also be a really good top for work if your uniform is all black. It would be a nice way to jazz up your uniform whilst still following the rules.

 The final thing I thought I would add in here is pjamas as I got quite a few for Christmas and I bought myself quite a few pairs before Christmas. I love my jammies and there is nothing better in Winter than when you come in from the cold and the rain and you slip on your pjama bottoms, make yourself a mug of hot chocolate and suddenly the world seems that much nicer. The best place to get really nice, affordable pj's is Primark and I'm a sucker for Primark's jammies and their slipper socks which I also bought in abundance this year! Primark is a shop I really dislike shopping in because it's always packed which makes me feel really anxious and they hardly ever have any size 6-8's and if they do they're usually found on the floor! However, if you get in there early and have patience you'll get there! I have taken pictures of my absolute favourite one's to show you that I got. The blue reindeer ones have pockets in them which I think is great because I always need somewhere to put my phone! and they're a cotton material as are the red fairisle print one's but sadly they don't have pockets.

 However, they do have little cuffs on the bottom of them which I think are cute, as do the pink polka dot ones (which i obv love cause they're you guessed it pink :-)) ) and the penguin print one's which I think are super cute! I really like that Primark's fleecy jammies have ribbons on them and they're super cosy and affordable too. I only paid £5/6 for mine which is the biggest bargain of the century I'm sure you will agree! My red star print one's are also super cosy and they feel amazing and soft and much more luxurious than my Primark one's. This would be because they are from Next and I'm pretty sure they would have cost a lot more than a fiver, however, I got them as a Christmas gift with a matching top so I couldn't tell you how much they were!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette Review

All three palettes.

 Hello my lovelies!

Today I'm FINALLY getting around to writing a blog post on my beloved Naked 3 palette. I've actually been wanting to do this for a very long time but there is a reason coming for why I've taken so long to do it!! Firstly, the weather in the United Kingdom has been miserable and it is grey and rainy and the lighting as a result is horrendous. This obviously does not affect my writing but it does affect the quality of the pictures and i wanted to make sure you saw this palette in all of it's beauty! Artificial lighting just was not doing it justice so i held out till i could take pictures in daylight. Secondly i was dying to use this palette as soon as it popped through my letterbox and i thought it would be better to review it after i had used it rather than just my first thoughts. So sorry for the visible use of the palette but it was just too beautiful to keep (don't you agree??)

 I had very high hopes for this palette because i own both the Naked Palette and the Naked 2 Palette and they're my favourite eye shadows. To be quite honest with you they're the only eye shadows i actually ever use! I've never really felt the need to venture into any other palettes because I only really like neutral eye make up and the Naked palettes are serving me just fine on that front. I'm not sure where I'd be without my Naked Palettes because they are just so pigmented and literally the looks you can create with them are endless! They're also the perfect palettes for travelling because they're sturdy and have perfect colours for both daytime and nighttime looks. Additionally because they come with a brush and a massive mirror, it's great for doing your makeup on trains and buses (come on, admit it, we've all done it!). The retail price for this palette is consistent with the other two palettes at £37 but they are worth eveeeery penny i tell ya!

 With every Naked Palette Urban Decay bring out they seem to impress me more and more everytime. When the first one came out i loved it, when i got the second one i thought it was even better and this third one is just something else. It is so beautiful that for the first week i got it, i kid you not i would open it just to look at it and admire it's beauty. I have actually done a blog post reviewing and comparing the first two palettes which i shall link below for you if you're interested. This palette has 12 shades as with all of Urban Decay's naked range and like the others comes with a brush. This one is a double ended shadow brush and it has a brush for applying eye shadow on one side and a brush for blending it out with the other. This palette is more of a pinky/rosegold theme than previous Naked palettes so that was me sold, i love rose gold, i love pink...could this palette be any more appropriate for me?? I think not.

 Fun fact for you! All of the naked palettes packaging reflects what the colours are inside, like with the first one it has more warmer shades and the package is a chocolate brown and with the second one it is a cooler toned brown because it contains cooler shades. Therefore it was no surprise to me that this package was..you guessed it rose gold coloured! Another fun fact for you is that Urban Decay designed all the packages differently so that if you have all three in your hand bag at once, you are able to tell which palette you're pulling out just by touch (if someone can find me a girl who would carry three eyeshadow palettes round in her handbag though i'd give them a round of applause!! as if we girls don't have enough to carry around with us!!) The first one was a luxurious feeling velvet packaging which was lovely but it became dirty easy and wore off with time and the second one was metal packaging so it's easier to clean and more convenient for travelling. They have made this third one different by adding ridged detailing onto the top. I actually think the Naked 3 palettes packaging is my favourite of the three!

The best thing about this palette compared to the others is that i cannot find a single shade in this palette that i will not have a use for. They are all gorgeous, wearable colours and i think i have already used each one at least once. Urban Decay have delivered yet again as all these eye shadows are pigmented and blend beautifully. I think the colour shade would compliment a wide range of skin tones and eye colours too, there really is something for everyone!

First 6 shades.

  The first six shades are:-
Strange- which is an off-white creamy colour (great for browbone highlighting)
Dust- stunning pale dusky pink glitter
Burnout- a shimmery rosey pink
Limit- a gorgeous taupey matte shade (brilliant for blending into the crease with the lighter shades)
Buzz- Perfect pink glitter (which annoyingly i stuck my nail into by accident when opening the palette, i was not a happy Abby that day!!)
Trick- is sort of the odd one out in this palette but beautiful all the same. It's a goldy/coppery glitter.

Last 6 shades.

Nooner- a darker, more purpley taupe matte shade (beautiful all over the lid or to blend out into the crease with the darker colours)

Liar- Goldy/Silvery shimmer (not sure how to describe this colour haha)

Factory- a shimmery chocolate brown

Mugshot- a lighter browny/silver shimmer

Darkside- a shimmery grey

Blackheart- a gorgeous black shot through with red glitter.

 Another thing i love about Urban Decay's eyeshadows is the fabulous names (don't you think beauty products are so much nicer when they're named??) I don't have any complaints about this palette at all, i honestly could not rave about it any more. My most favourite colours would have to be Buzz, obviously i was going to love it with it being the pinkest colour in the palette and Dust which does have alot of fallout but it is so beautiful. What's having to do a little tidying up with conealer and foundation to have a colour like that on your eyes eh?! Another shade which really excited me was Blackheart as I've never seen an eyeshadow like it and it truly does look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G on the eyes (trust me on this one). I would definitely say those are my top three out of the whole palette, only if i absolutely HAD to choose between them as i love them all.

Jewel Candle Review

Helloo my lovelies :-),

 Recently i decided to buy myself a Jewel candle because as everyone knows I'm obsessed with candles! I had been thinking about it for a while as i'm pretty certain the last thing i needed was another candle but of course i caved (so much for my New Years 'saving money' resolution!!) I was just amazed by the innovative concept as I've never came across anything like it before. The whole idea of a jewel candle is that you buy a candle and embedded in the back of the candle is a piece of jewellery wrapped in tin foil and Jewel Candle promise that your jewellery will be worth between £10-£250. To get your jewellery, you have to burn the candle for a number of hours until you can pull it out, open up the heat proof tin foil and unwrap your jewel. Additionally all Jewel Candles are entirely homemade which adds to the unique experience.

 Jewel candle have two types of candle to choose from, the first being a larger candle which holds a ring and costs £24.95 and they also do a smaller candle which contains earrings which costs £16.95. Their shipping is quite expensive as it costs £3.95 but if you order three or more candles then you get free shipping which is good! All the candles are delivered by Royal Mail aswell so if you're not in when it arrives you can pop down to the post office and pick it up. My first opinions when choosing a candle was that there isn't a great choice of candle scents and none of them seem to have a distinct scent but more a name e.g. 'True Love' or 'Happy Birthday'. So in the end i went with Candy Floss mainly because it's pink (who can resist pink?!) therefore it matches my room and i love eating candy floss so why not have a candy floss candle?!

 I received my candle very quickly, within a few days of ordering it which i was impressed with. I was especially impressed as I had ordered some Lush goodies a week earlier and they still hadn't arrived so i was surprised to see my later order arrive first and as an impatient person i really really love speedy deliveries!! It was packaged beautifully with a lovely bow tied around it which i should have taken a picture of but i was too excited to start burning it (sorry!). I personally amn't the biggest fan of the smell and to me it just smells a bit like playdough which isn't exactly what you want your room to smell like but then my boyfriend and little sister love the smell so i think it's a personal taste thing. It's just a bit too sweet and sickly for me but hey ho i didn't buy the candle for the candle, it was more for the concept so i was still quite happy. I lit it right away and literally stayed in all day and waited for it to burn down enough to get my jewel (yes i really am that sad hahaa). You don't have to let the candle burn down completely either, i think mines only took around 6 hours as you can get it out with tweezers once the majority of wax around it has melted. As you can see in the picture here, this is what it looks like when the jewel is ready to be removed, aslong as most of the surrounding wax  is melted and if you can't wait that long use a spoon to gently dig it out!

When i unwrapped my ring i could not have been happier, it's absolutely gorgeous. As all the jewellery is worth between £10-£250 it's a gamble as to what you're going to get. Jewel candle used to state their exact prices that the jewellery is worth so i was a tad disappointed when mines didn't say that but apparently for legal reasons they can no longer do this. However, for those who are too curious to not know you can take it to a local jeweller and they will let you know. Anyway back to my ring! It's real sterling silver and it's hallmarked with '925' on the inside so you know that it is genuine silver. It has little diamond/diamonte jewels embedded round it and then in the middle of an oval of diamonte's, it has a giant diamonte. I actually had a discount code when i bought this so i got mines for £23.00 including shipping (bargain) and i definitely think that you would struggle to pick up a sterling silver ring for £23.00 especially one as nice as this! Jewel Candle make all their jewellery in the most popular sizes. My ring fits nicely on my middle finger but it is a tad on the roomy side but it's too beautiful not to wear so i can live with that! I think it was totally worth the splurge!

Hello my lovelies!

 Urban Decay are famously known for their well loved Naked Palettes, a dazzling array of 12 neutral eye make up colours, perfect for creating numerous subtle eye looks, ideal for school or work and even going out. Although i have had these palettes a while, only recently have i started to enjoy using them frequently. When i was buying my first naked palette i didn't really know much about the difference's between the two in detail so i ended up just going for the first one. Then months down the line realising i'd rather have the second so as a result i now have both! So i have finally got round to making a blog post with information i wish i had known when i had been looking into buying mine!
 
 Before i got my first naked palette i didn't really venture into the world of eyeshadow, i didn't really think they suited me and couldn't quite perfect the art of blending and all that jazz! However after hearing it being raved about on YouTube and blogs i decided to give it a whirl. Which was a risky decision given the price (£37) but since you get 12 1.3g eye shadows which works out about £3 each it's definitely worth it! Especially given a singular MAC eyeshadow is only slightly bigger at 1.5g and retails between £10-£13. But don't fear if you're slightly afraid of eyeshadows like i was, the Naked Palette's are perfect to start off with!

 The first Naked palette comes with the Urban Decay primer potion which is an AMAZING primer and it really, really does make the eyeshadows appear brighter and more pigmented whilst making them last! I've had nights out where i've come back and been too lazy to take my makeup off (slap on the wrists for me) , woken up the next morning and been very impressed to find my eyeshadow still in place! It also comes with a single ended brush which is good for applying the eyeshadow with. The palette itself has two matte shades Buck and Naked and 10 satiny, shimmery shades.

Virgin- pale Satin shade, good for highlighting brow bone and inner corner of the eye
Sin- shimmery pinky champagne colour
Naked- matte nude, good for light crease definition
Sidecar- a beige glitter
Buck- matte brown, good for crease definition and also can be used for light brunette's/dark blonde's eyebrows
Half Baked- gold glitter that features in both naked palettes
Smog- bronze shimmery shade
Darkhorse- dark brown shimmer
Toasted- light purple shimmer
Hustle- darker purple shimmer
Creep- black with glitter
Gunmental- silvery blue with glitter

  Out of this palette i'd say the shades i use most are Sin, Sidecar, Buck, Half-baked, Toasted and Hustle as i'm sure you'll be able to tell from the pictures! I rarely ever find a use for Creep or Gunmental. The palette packaging is nice with it's velvet cover however it does fade with age and use but the magnetic clasps which the brush can also attach to does please me(it's the small things in life). I feel the mirror in the naked palette could be bigger though!

 The Naked 2 packaging is less pleasing as it has a metally plastic finish however it does have the whole top lid as a mirror (big plus) which makes the palette alot easier to use on the go. It also comes with a double ended brush which i find is perfect for travelling too as it has a similar brush to the first naked palette on one end for applying the eyeshadow and a fluffy blending brush on the other side. As if the fandabby brush wasn't enough it also comes with an Urban Decay lipgloss in the shade 'Naked' (funnily enough) which is alright as lipglosses go and taste's like mint choc chip ice cream. The shades in this palette are three mattes, three glitters and 6 shimmer shades:-

Foxy- a very pale yellowish matte shade
Half Baked- gold glitter from previous naked palette
Bootycall- Shimmery cork eyeshadow
Chopper- a bronze glitter
Tease- matte taupe/purple, good for all over lid or crease definition
Snakebite- a dark brown shimmer, similar to dark horse from the original Naked palette
Suspect- a beautiful shimmery gold/beige
Pistol- a silvery shimmer
Verve- silvery pearl shade
YDK- light purpley glitter, bares close resemblance to toasted (original Naked palette) but glitter instead of shimmer
Busted- purple shimmer, very similar to Hustle (original Naked palette)
Blackout- matte black, perfect for smoky eye's or to use instead of eyeliner for a more subtle, natural look

  I use most shades in the Naked 2 palette which is most definitely my favourite palette. The only shade i tend not to use is foxy as it's just too pale for me and never seem's to add much to my eye makeup looks.

   The best way to determine which palette is best for you is take the naked one palette and if you find yourself eyeing up the first 6 colours rather than the latter 6 then go for the Naked 2 as it has more of a lighter range of colours that are more subtle and 'naked' so to speak.
